The policies every Edge Hoboken member and family agrees to — attendance, make-up classes, memberships, communication, and health & hygiene.
Objective: To ensure all athletes receive the highest quality of training and to maintain a safe and disciplined training environment, participants are required to be fully prepared and on the mat at the scheduled class start time.
Arrival time. Athletes are encouraged to arrive at least 10–15 minutes prior to the scheduled class time. This allows time to check in, change clothes, warm up, and get mentally prepared for the session.
Preparedness. All athletes must be on the mat and fully ready — with shoes properly laced and tied — by 5 minutes after the scheduled class start time. Water bottles should be placed on the black bench by mat 1 or the tan window pads by mats 2 & 3.
Late arrivals. Athletes who arrive after class has started and are not on the mat and ready to go within 5 minutes will not be permitted to participate in that session.
Emergency exceptions. If you anticipate being late or have an emergency that will affect your arrival, please notify the coaches by sending a direct message to Student Services in WrestlingIQ in advance when possible. This may allow us to make reasonable accommodations if necessary. While we strive for consistency, we also understand that life happens.
Why this policy matters. Punctuality and preparedness are essential to ensure safety, maintain the flow of training, and provide the best possible experience for all athletes. This policy helps ensure every athlete is able to fully engage in the session and benefit from the training.
We believe consistent training is key to achieving great results. We know life can sometimes throw curveballs, making it hard to attend your scheduled classes — our make-up class policy helps you stay on track.
Please note that missed practices without notice may not qualify for a make-up session. We understand that school events, illnesses, and family obligations come up, and we'll always do our best to accommodate families when possible while maintaining a quality training environment for all athletes.
All memberships are subscription-based and billed every 4 weeks. For any changes to your membership, direct message Student Services on WrestlingIQ. Avoid communicating membership change requests via text, in person, or to coaches, as this may delay processing — our coaches are dedicated to coaching and training athletes and are not equipped to handle membership changes, even if informed in person.
For more information on managing your subscription, see the WrestlingIQ payments & memberships help center.
To upgrade or downgrade your membership (for example, from 1 Day / Week to 2 Days / Week at the same skill level), direct message Student Services on WrestlingIQ. Do not cancel your current membership and sign up for another, as this could disrupt your billing dates. Send your request at least 7 days before the desired start date.
If your wrestler is upgraded to a new level (for example, from Level 1 to Level 2), do not cancel your current membership and sign up for another — billing dates could be disrupted and training you've already paid for could be lost. Instead, direct message Student Services on WrestlingIQ with the change you'd like to make, at least 7 days before the desired start date. Note that pricing may change between levels.
Purpose. We recognize that families have busy schedules — vacations, other sports commitments, and unforeseen events. The temporary pause option lets you take a break while reserving your training times and roster spot.
Expectations. After the pause period ends, we expect all athletes to resume training with us. If you cancel your membership within 30 days after the pause concludes, you will be charged in full for the duration of the pause. This policy helps us maintain consistency and fairness for all athletes.
Message Student Services on WrestlingIQ with your child's name, the start date of the pause, the end date of the pause, and the reason for the pause. Once your pause is processed you'll receive an automated confirmation email from WrestlingIQ.
If you need time off during a sports season, we recommend pausing (see above) and then transitioning to training once a week to maintain your spot in the program.
Cancellation is self-directed and can be completed by logging into your WrestlingIQ account. Follow the steps in the WrestlingIQ cancellation guide.
All communication with coaches goes through WrestlingIQ, with administrative matters directed to Student Services. Please refrain from texting coaches as much as possible.

The health and safety of our athletes is extremely important. Because wrestling is a close-contact sport, maintaining proper hygiene helps protect everyone on the mat and reduces the spread of illness and skin infections.
All athletes should:
Parents and athletes should routinely monitor for:
If an athlete develops a suspicious rash or skin condition, please keep them home from practice until evaluated by a medical professional, notify staff as soon as possible, and note that athletes may be required to provide medical clearance before returning to participation.
Attempting to cover or hide a potentially contagious skin condition places teammates at risk and may lead to removal from practice.
If an athlete is experiencing symptoms such as fever, vomiting, diarrhea, persistent cough, chills or body aches, significant fatigue, or flu-like symptoms, please keep them home until they are symptom-free and feeling well enough to safely participate.
Training while sick not only affects recovery and performance but also increases the likelihood of spreading illness to teammates and coaches. We appreciate everyone doing their part to help maintain a clean, healthy, and safe training environment for all athletes.
